Southwest Monsoon Finally Reaches Kerala, Odisha Likely to Receive Rains by June 8–12
The Southwest Monsoon has officially reached Kerala on June 4, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) announced. Although it was expected to arrive around May 26, the monsoon made a delayed onset this year. Heavy rainfall is forecast across Kerala until June 9, with Orange Alerts issued for eight districts, including Thiruvananthapuram. Several areas may receive 7–20 cm of rain. The IMD expects the monsoon to advance rapidly across the country, and Odisha is likely to experience its onset between June 8 and June 12, bringing relief to farmers and ending the prolonged summer heat.

World’s Tallest Chariot Nears Completion in Odisha’s Keonjhar Ahead of Rath Yatra
The construction of the world's tallest chariot for Lord Shri Baladev Jew's Rath Yatra is underway in Keonjhar, Odisha. The 72-foot-high, 16-wheeled Nandighosha chariot, recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records, is being built by 45 artisans using Sal, Dhaura, Gambhari, and Simili wood sourced from Telkoi and Barbil forests. This year, the chariot's axle is being completely replaced. A unique feature of the chariot is that it is pulled using traditional ropes made from Siali creepers by the Bhuyan community. Devotees are eagerly awaiting the sacred occasion when the deities will be seated on the world's tallest chariot during the Rath Yatra festival.

କେନ୍ଦ୍ରାପଡ଼ା ଜିଲ୍ଲା ରାଜନଗର ମୁଗକଣୀ ଗାଁ ନିକଟରେ ସଡ଼କ ଦୁର୍ଘଟଣାରେ ଦୁଇ ଶ୍ରମିକ ଙ୍କ ମୃତ୍ୟୁ ଘଟିଛି। ରାସ୍ତା ଢ଼ଳେଇ କାମ ସାରି ଏକ ପିକଅପ ଗାଡ଼ିରେ ଯାଉଥିବା ସମୟରେ ଗାଡିଟି ଭାରଶ୍ୟାମ ହରାଇ ରାସ୍ତା ତଳକୁ ଓଲଟି ପଡିଥିଲା। ଘଟଣା ସ୍ଥଳରେ ଗୋଖନୀ ଗାଁ ର ସୁମନ୍ତ ମହାନ୍ତି, ଚିଂଚିରି ଗାଁର କୁମର ବାରିକ ଙ୍କ ମୃତ୍ୟୁ ଘଟିଛି। ଅନ୍ୟ ତିନିଜଣ ଗୁରୁତର ଅଛନ୍ତି। ତାଙ୍କୁ ଚିକିତ୍ସା ପାଇଁ କଟକ ମେଡିକାଲ କୁ ସ୍ଥାନାନ୍ତରିତ କରାଯାଇଛି। ଡହଡହ ଖରାରେ ପେଟ ପାଟଣା ପାଇଁ ଶ୍ରମିକମାନେ କାମ କରୁଛନ୍ତି। ଦୃଘଟଣା ରେ ଏଭଳି ଶ୍ରମିକ ଙ୍କ ମୃତ୍ୟୁ ସମଗ୍ର ଅଞ୍ଚଳ ରେ ଶୋକର ଛାୟା କହେଇଯାଇଛି।
