Wife, Lover Arrested for Brutal Murder of Husband in Chennai
Chennai Police arrested a woman and her alleged lover for allegedly murdering her husband, dismembering the body, and dumping the remains at multiple locations. The crime was uncovered after human body parts were found inside a suitcase at Perambur Railway Station.

A shocking murder case from Chennai, Tamil Nadu, has sent shockwaves across the city after police uncovered a gruesome conspiracy involving a woman and her alleged lover. The case came to light after a suitcase containing dismembered human remains was discovered on Platform No. 4 of Perambur Railway Station last week. Following an intensive investigation, police arrested the victim's wife, Rema Khatun (30), and her alleged lover, Ashraf Ali (36), for the murder of Amir Ali (35), a native of Assam. According to police, investigators examined more than 100 CCTV cameras and analyzed ride-booking records from transport platforms. A plastic bag from a private hospital found inside the suitcase also provided a crucial lead in cracking the case. During interrogation, police learned that Rema and Amir frequently argued, and she had accused him of physically abusing her. Investigators allege that Rema and Ashraf then conspired to eliminate Amir. On June 2, they allegedly mixed seven sleeping pills into a glass of milk and gave it to him. After he lost consciousness, they reportedly slit his throat and killed him. To conceal the crime, the accused allegedly dismembered the body and disposed of the remains at different locations. Police later recovered the victim’s head near Kolavai Lake, while other body parts were found near the Buckingham Canal. The recovered remains have been sent for forensic examination, and both accused have been remanded to judicial custody. Further investigation into the case is ongoing.
