In a landmark event for Odisha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu are set to share the stage in Mayurbhanj district on June 20, marking a historic moment for the state. The high-profile visit coincides with the completion of two years of the BJP government in Odisha and is expected to bring major development announcements for the region. The Prime Minister is scheduled to visit Pahadpur in Mayurbhanj, offer prayers at the revered Gosani Peetha shrine, and visit the President's in-laws' village before proceeding to Dandabosh near Rairangpur for a massive public meeting. President Murmu, who hails from Mayurbhanj, will join the programme, underscoring the district's growing national significance. The event is expected to witness the launch and foundation laying of infrastructure projects worth several thousand crores. Among the key projects likely to be unveiled are the ₹8,300-crore Rameshwar–Paradip Coastal Highway, the proposed Bhubaneswar-Cuttack-Puri-Paradip Economic Region (BCPPER), and major national highway initiatives including the Capital Region Ring Road. These projects are aimed at enhancing connectivity, attracting investment, and generating employment across Odisha. Preparations for the visit are in full swing, with the Odisha government conducting high-level reviews and security arrangements in Mayurbhanj. Authorities have intensified vigilance along district borders to ensure smooth conduct of the event. The visit is being viewed as a major boost for Mayurbhanj's development trajectory. Recently, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated projects worth over ₹430 crore in the district, including a 650-bed teaching hospital at the Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College in Baripada. The upcoming announcements are expected to further accelerate infrastructure and economic growth in the region.
