AIIMS Bhubaneswar Security Staff Call Off Protest After Director’s Assurance
Outsourced security personnel at AIIMS Bhubaneswar withdrew their protest after Director Ashutosh Biswas assured action on their demands. Around 440 workers had been protesting over two months of unpaid salaries, EPF dues, and alleged salary cuts. AIIMS clarified that salary payments are handled by outsourcing agency MVSF and promised action over the delay.
The outsourced security personnel working at AIIMS Bhubaneswar have withdrawn their protest following assurances from AIIMS Director Ashutosh Biswas over the resolution of their demands. Around 440 security staff members had launched an agitation demanding payment of two months’ pending salaries, EPF dues, and protesting alleged arbitrary salary deductions. The employees had been staging a protest over delays in receiving their wages. Speaking on the issue, AIIMS Bhubaneswar Director Ashutosh Biswas clarified that the institute had no direct role in withholding salaries, stating that payments to the security personnel are handled by the outsourced agency MVSF. According to him, delays occurred because the agency submitted bills late, preventing AIIMS from processing payments on time. The Director further assured the protesting workers that action would be taken against the outsourcing agency over non-payment of salaries and for creating a situation that led to the agitation. Following the assurance and discussions with the administration, the security personnel called off their protest. However, they warned that if their demands are not fulfilled as promised, they will resume the agitation in the coming days.
