n a shocking incident in Odisha’s Bargarh district, a man was rescued alive from an isolated well located in the nursery area of Samalaipadar under Bijeipur block. The incident has created panic and curiosity among local residents. According to the rescued man, the incident took place last Sunday at around 3 AM when five individuals allegedly assaulted him. He claimed that the attackers believed he had died after the attack and threw him into the abandoned well before fleeing the spot. The victim reportedly remained trapped inside the well for nearly four days, surviving under extremely difficult conditions without food and while struggling to stay alive.The incident came to light on Wednesday when a local resident entered the nearby forest area to collect firewood and heard cries for help coming from inside the well. He immediately informed villagers, who alerted the police and fire services. Rescue teams reached the spot and launched an operation. After considerable effort, the man was safely pulled out of the well and shifted to Bijeipur Community Health Centre for medical treatment. Local sources said the rescued individual is believed to be a resident of a village in the Padampur area. However, police are continuing their investigation to verify his identity and determine the exact circumstances behind the incident. Authorities suspect the case may be linked to an attempt to murder, though all angles are currently being examined. Further details are expected after the investigation progresses.
