Samaleswari Express Catches Fire, 3 Dead

Bhubaneswar, Samaleswari Express caught fire this afternoon near Sadabaguda of Rayagada district.The moving train hits a maintenance engine deployed for track repair.After the collision,the train was derailed and the engine was separated. As soon as the train collided, it caught fire and three seriously injured. The injured persons had been shifted to the nearby hospital.Doctor declared them dead. The three persons were the employees of Railways. They are identified as maintenance engineer Suresh, senior electrical section engineer Sagar and electrical technician Gauri Naidu. In the incident, two station masters have been suspended due to dereliction in duty. Senior officers and police personnel of Rayagada district had  rushed to the spot.

Senior Railway Officers also went to the incident site. Local people and social workers reached there to help the affected people.All the passengers of Samaleswari Express are safe. Steps have been taken to bring back the passengers to Rayagada. After that two buses will be provided to them, Railways officials say.
