Ex-MP Laxman Tudu quits JMM, joins BJP

Bhubaneswar: Former Mayurbhanj MP Laxman Tudu resigned from the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today.

Besides Tudu, Aska MLA Debaraj Mohanty, former MLA Niranjan Pradhan and former chairperson of Sundargarh Special Development Council (SDC), Kusum Tete also joined the saffron party in a joining programme here.Tudu had joined the JMM, a day after resigning from the ruling BJD last year. Tudu, a senior political leader, was ruling Biju Janata Dal's tribal face in Mayurbhanj.Notably, a three-time district president of BJD, Tudu was denied BJD ticket for the 2014 election as the party leadership preferred the sitting MLA Ramchandra Hansda. Tudu had won the Lok Sabha polls from Mayurbhanj in 2009.
