Headless body of 9-yr-old boy found in Bolangir

Bolangir: The headless body of a nine-year-old missing boy was found five kilomteres away from his house near Sundhimunda village under Kantabanji police limits in Bolangir district on Tuesday.The deceased minor was identified as Ghanashyam Rana, son of Hira Rana of Sindhekela village in the district.According to reports, Mithun had gone missing on October 13. After a frantic search, his family members were unable to trace him. Later, minor's family lodged a complaint with the police in this regard on October 14.Sources said, police recovered the beheaded body of the minor boy buried in the sand near Sundhimunda, about five kilometres away from his house after some locals spotted it this morning. On being informed, the minor's family reached the spot and identified the body.Locals suspect the killing to be case of human sacrifice' or 'witchcraft'. However, the actual reason behind the brutal murder is yet to be ascertained.The police have seized the body for post-mortem and launched a probe into the matter.
