Bolangir ACTO lands in Vigilance net

Bolangir: Vigilance sleuths on Thursday raided the house and office of assistant commercial tax officer (ACTO) Dhirendra Mishra on charges of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.The Sambalpur Vigilance department along with their Bolangir and Bargarh counterparts conducted simultaneous raids on Mishra's residence at Mahalaxmi Nagar in the district including his offices in Bolangir and Kantabanji.During the raid the cops seized cash to the tune of Rs 4.71 lakh and gold ornaments from his residence. Besides, several documents, including bank passbooks, ATM cards and insurance papers were also verified and seized.The Vigilance conducted the raids following a complaint accusing ACTO Mishra of amassing assets worth over Rs 1 crore, disproportionate to his known sources of income.
