Village Guard among four kidnapped by Maoists in Kalahandi

Kalahandi: At least four persons, including three villagers and a Gram Rakhi (village guard) were allegedly abducted by Maoists from Lakhpadar village under Bijepur police limits in Kalahandi district.

Sources said around 30 armed Maoists raided the village at around 122 noon and kidnapped Babula Naik,Khetra Naik, Raju Harijan and Bisikesan Naik from their respective houses at gun point.

Though the exact reason behind the abduction is still unclear, it is suspected that the ultras abducted them suspecting them to be police informer.

Bamsadhara-Nagavali-Ghumsur division of the banned rebel organisation is functioning in this region which is closed to Niyamgiri hills, informed DIG (South Western Range) S Shyni.

Meanwhile, security forces intensified agitation in the area.
