Fake currency worth Rs 1.06 lakh seized, 4 arrested in Boudh

Boudh: Five members of a gang were arrested by police today on charges of circulating counterfeit currency notes in Boudh.
Acting on a tip off, police conducted raids in Bargarh, Sonepur and Kandhamal districts and arrested five persons and seized counterfeit currency worth Rs 1.06 lakh from their possession. Investigation is on to find out who else is involved in the racket, the police said.
Police also seized fake currency manufacturing equipments from their possession too.
Counterfeit currency circulation, distribution and manufacture have become very rampant in the State. There is a possibility that they might be sending consignments to other States as well.
In last ten days six persons were arrested in Balasore district alone for allegedly circulating counterfeit currency notes.
