7 shops burnt to ashes in Balikuda

Bhubaneswar: Brand new products worth lakhs of rupees were burnt to ashes as a fire engulfed seven shops at Parahaat Bazaar under Balikuda tehsil late on Monday night.

On being informed by locals, fire brigades rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire after an hour's effort.

Though the reason behind the spread of fire was yet to be known, it is suspected that an electric short circuit might be behind the incident.
